About the event
The winds of wanderlust have blown once again and Hedoné has crossed the ocean to bring poetry into lives as we honor nature, beauty, art and the physical form.
Hedoné is an artistic movement celebrating the joys and pleasures of the body, spirit and mind. We aim to deconstruct the misconceptions surrounding hedonism by shining a light on its ethical aspects. We hope our attitude can inspire people on their quest to free their souls from the conventions and prejudices that prevent them from being the happiest version of themselves. Through art, activism, education and celebration we fight crimes against pleasure. Join us for an enriching, delightful, charitable event that will explore pleasure from theory to practice.
AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
Following the vision and mission of Hedoné, the first part of our event is introduction, initiation and education. A choice of workshops, talks, circles and performances are some of the experiences we have carefully curated for you. The experiences will present techniques and practices that encourage and support a loving (re)connection of the participants with themselves - as well as with one another - in favor of a more harmonious, happier version of themselves.
During the second part of our event, we will put our newly acquired consciousness into practice. We will celebrate the simple pleasures of life together. The ambience is inspired by the poem “De Rerum Natura”, an ode to ethical hedonism. Elements that symbolize the beauty of nature will be the main components of the decoration and dress code.
ATTIRE
Apart from flowers, feathers, shells, etc., only light-colored fabrics (white, cream, beige, silver), body paint and bio - glitter are allowed. We also love skin! Transparency and nudity are encouraged and celebrated. We expect all participants to comply with the dress code in order to maintain our enchanted atmosphere. Please be aware that dark fabrics and street clothes are not welcome.
A pop- up costume atelier will be set up to help you complete your outfit. Some limited materials will be available to upgrade costumes but we kindly ask you to bring your own supplies if you wish to create your costume at the location. We will have some headpieces for sale and rent.
This celebration is a mass performance against Female Genital Mutilation under the motto “Don't Cut the Flower”. All profits from our events are directed to produce a movie that will change the perception of the female genitalia, this movie aim to reduce the practice of Female Genital Mutilation. Please support us in our mission of liberating and share pleasure in this world.
